Starting with the latter, the package will be launched in Japan this fall and offered on RC and RZ variants. It draws inspiration from racing and features a front lip spoiler, front fender vents, and a ventilated aluminum hood. Buyers will also find an adjustable rear wing, a ventilated rear bumper, and a fuel tank cover that optimizes underbody airflow.

As for the standard model, it arrives in May and features a “further refined” automatic transmission. Toyota says it provides improved responsiveness during sporty driving as well as better shift timing. It also comes with an enlarged dead pedal.
Elsewhere, engineers installed upgraded hardware as a number of components are now secured with beefier bolts. These are used on the front and rear suspension for improved steering response and straight-line stability.
GR Yaris Aero Performance Package
Speaking of the suspension, the latest GR Yaris features revised shock absorbers and “re-adjusted” settings. Buyers will also find a revamped electric power steering system, which has a more linear feel as well as unique tuning for each trim.
Besides performance tweaks, the car comes with additional equipment. The Toyota Safety Sense suite of driver assistance systems is now standard on all trims, while the vertical parking brake is now available on all grades instead of being limited to the RC.
Japanese pricing starts at ¥3,560,000 ($24,793) and climbs to ¥5,330,000 ($37,120) for the range-topping RZ High Performance. The latter features a turbocharged 1.6-liter three-cylinder engine developing 300 hp (224 kW / 304 PS) and 295 lb-ft (400 Nm) of torque. All-wheel drive is standard, while customers can opt for a six-speed manual or an eight-speed automatic.
